Youth Alliance Zambia (YAZ) is a peer-to-peer Nongovernmental and Non-profit Youth Organization that promotes young people from across Zambia to be open-minded, Political players, Civil Leaders and Active citizens. We provide participants with a forum to develop and express their opinions on a wide range of topics. By bringing young people from different backgrounds together, we build intercultural understanding and friendships across borders. YAZ members and volunteers get equipped with knowledge and skills to positively shape the world around them. Our specific objectives are; • To host youth events around the country through meaningful youth discussions, activities, and experiences to develop and implement their own ideas to contribute to society. • To promote youth leadership and entrepreneurship. • To coordinate all young people and provide a forum in which they can express their own opinions, without reverting to role play. • To implement charity programs aimed at providing charity assistance to the needy, less fortunate and vulnerable people in communities. • To contribute to the personal skills training and development of the young people. • To be the liaison (bridge) between the youth and the government. • To host programs aimed at socio-economic empowerment of women and girls and promote gender equality. • To implement programs for Reproductive Health and HIV Prevention As a network of independent associations, YAZ is headquartered in Lusaka, Zambia and looks to organize more than 500 events every year. Members are volunteers from all provinces of Zambia, making YAZ a programme truly for young people, by young people.
